Fight back! Become an MNA Legislative Liaison!

Nurses must be politically active in order to be effective patient advocates in today’s society. Legislators in Washington and Lansing are cutting funding for vital programs that keep us all healthy. Others are attacking our right to collectively bargain. Now is the time to get involved, stay involved and to help your fellow nurses do the same.

A great way to do this is to become your LBU’s Legislative Liaison. Not only is this a great opportunity to have constant access to current, up-to-date information regarding politics, policy-making, and the political process, but it is also the chance to be a source of knowledge and an important resource to yourself and your colleagues.

Everyone leads a busy life – there is no question of that. Being a Legislative Liaison is a way for you to actively participate in the process of ensuring that your busy life is not encroached upon by bad legislation that impacts you and your family. Take a chance, be bold, and give yourself an opportunity to expand what you can do and what you can provide. Knowledge is power, and power effects change.
