Can a nurse from the 1800s offer wisdom for today’s nursing profession? Dr. Louise Selanders is an internationally recognized nurse historian who firmly believes that the history of nursing, in particular the work of Florence Nightingale, offers answers to current and future concerns regarding nursing education, practice and research. Currently the Director of the Masters Program at the Michigan State University School of Nursing in East Lansing, Michigan, Dr. Selanders will bring history to life by applying Nightingale’s visionary thinking to today’s nurses.
