2010 Community Health Project

Take part in the MNSA 2010 Community Health Project: Risk for Violence Intervention: Ensure all Michiganders are Safe from Harm

Goals:
• To Raise awareness about the issue of abuse in the state of Michigan
• To encourage nursing students to call their local shelter and find out ways in which they can help those in need
• To support fundrasing efforts to raise money and collect items to benefit those living in Michigan who sffer from domestic violence
• To advocate for all victims of violence and to ensure that those who have experienced violence remain safe

Find out the details HERE. This Community Health Project Handbook gives you a brief overview on how to get started, a list of Michigan shelters, and a copy of the form you will need in order to participate in this years Community Health Project.

Paricipation in the MNSA Community Health Project 2010:

MNSA would like to ask that your local nursing organization does its part to help us with this year's community health project. Contact a shelter in your area! Run a food, clothing, or cell phone drive! Volunteer answering assault crisis hot-lines! Help with maitenance of a local shelter!

Submit a desciption of the event held at your school or in your community, and provide a brief description about how it has contributed to one or more of the MNSA goals stated above. Also provide the names of the particiants who organized the event. Make sure to document the event with photos! Include a photo of the event in your school's submission. Send all completed requirements to Autumn Richards, Community Health Director.

To thank you, MNSA will send YOUR SNA CHAPTER a $100 Check as a token of our appreciation for helping to make a difference by participating in the 2010 Community Health Project. We will also feature your school in our newsletter, NurseTalk, so colleges across the state can see the difference you are making in Michigan.
