MNA Legislative Update #12

While the legislature remains on break, the work for the rest of us continues. This week we’re sending you a fact sheet on key legislation that was on the move during the first six months of the year. Some of the bills have now become laws and the others are well on their way.
Please take some time to read this over and to familiarize yourself with what has happened and what is sure to come in the fall. The battles we have been fighting are far from over and we need everyone to stay updated and informed so that we can all work together to come out on top.
We hope you will print this fact sheet and share it with your co-workers and family members. Find time this summer to contact your legislators and to let them know what MNA’s position is on all of these pieces of legislation.

Don’t forget to use the website, www.minurses.org, as a tool to read articles, gather information, and receive updates on what is happening with health care in Michigan.
Staying informed is critical, as well as getting involved at the local level. Get yourself out there, call or write your legislators, let us help you set up in district meetings with them, and take some time to go to their monthly coffee hours. It is imperative that we all get involved and stay involved with this process.
