Today, Sept. 1, registered nurses in Muskegon, Mt. Pleasant, Jackson and Marquette will join their counterparts in 20 other states who are holding soup kitchens, food drives and other events with a single message for members of Congress: it’s time for Wall Street corporations to pay to heal the damage they’ve done to Main Street communities.
The nurses will unveil the Main Street Contract for America and ask Michigan’s Congress members to pledge to put the interests of workers and families before those of Wall Street and wealthy CEOs.
VISUALS AT ALL EVENTS: Nurses in scrubs serving meals; banners, balloons, stickers, etc.; workers and other participants holding signs saying “Heal America: Tax Wall Street” and other slogans; food donation boxes at Central Michigan University site.
