MNA ENDORSES HEALTH CARE SECURITY BALLOT PROPOSAL MNA has announced its endorsement of the 2008 ballot initiative campaign to seek health coverage for all Michigan citizens. When passed, the Michigan Health Care Security proposal would amend the Michigan State Constitution so that the legislature must create a plan to make health care coverage available to all residents of the state. The next step in the campaign is to collect signatures to ensure the initiative is on the November ballot. For the actual initiative language and a link to the signature petition, click here. BRESLIN APPOINTED TO BOARD OF NURSING MNA is pleased to announce that Jeffrey Breslin, RN, a member of the MNA Board of Directors and President of the Professional Employees Council of Sparrow Hospital (PECSH), has been appointed by Governor Granholm to the Michigan Board of Nursing. His term is effective until June 30, 2011. Congratulations, Jeff! TAKE THE 2008 HEALTH CARE FOR AMERICA SURVEY Working America, the community affiliate of the AFL-CIO, is encouraging people to take their new 2008 Health Care for America survey. Because health care is such a primary topic of the upcoming Presidential race, any data that can be shared with the candidates regarding people's experiences with the current health care system becomes extremely important.
