ARMC RNS TAKE THEIR ISSUES TO THE BOARD The registered nurses of Alpena Regional Medical Center were making headlines and attracting TV reporters as they brought their issues before the ARMC Board of Trustees Tuesday evening. The nurses are currently working without a contract and have run into several concerns during their negotiations. To read the coverage in The Alpena News, click here. HUMAN SERVICES SURVEY NEEDS YOUR INPUT Over the past year, the Michigan League for Human Services has been working closely with the Commission on Community Action and Economic Opportunity. As a part of this effort, the Commission and the League have created a survey designed to collect information from individuals throughout the state that have direct contact with clients on a day-to-day basis. This brief survey is designed to gather general information about the direct services offered, clients served, and organizational characteristics of, as well as the strengths and weaknesses of the programs and services that direct service providers believe their clients encounter. The survey is available for completion from Monday March 24, 2008 to Friday, April 11, 2008. To complete the survey, click here. NLRB FAILS TO FILL SEATS The National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) has been stymied in filling open Board seats due to the protests of several unions, including the AFL-CIO, who have called for a "pro-worker labor board."
