Over 800 registered nurses and nursing students participated in Nurses MARCH! 2009, the event which teaches nurses how to advocate for their patients and themselves in the political arena. Nurses heard the latest news on legislation,
met with their legislators, and rallied on the Capitol steps in support of issues that impact their nursing practice.

UAN President Ann Converso, RN, addresses the Nurses MARCH 2009 participants. Over 800 registered nurses and nursing students attended. Members of the Borgess RN Staff Nurses Council were a strikingly visible presence at the event.

 

Nurses marched enthusiastically through the streets of Lansing and listened to speakers on the Capitol steps before individual meetings with their legislators.
