MNA ANNOUNCES 2005-2007 OFFICER ELECTION
RESULTS
OKEMOS, MI – Cheryl Johnson, RN, of Brighton
has been elected to her second term as president
of the Michigan Nurses Association (MNA). Johnson
was elected during the MNA Annual Convention, held
October 4-7, 2005 at Eaglecrest Marriott and Conference
Center in Ypsilanti, MI.
Johnson has been a registered nurse for over 30
years and currently practices as a critical care
nurse at the University of Michigan Health Systems
in Ann Arbor, MI. In addition to her role as president
of MNA, she is also president of the United American
Nurses (UAN), AFL-CIO, the largest union for registered
nurses in the United States.
Becky Baldwin, RN, of Portage has been elected
to her first term as treasurer of the Michigan Nurses
Association. Baldwin practices as a nurse in the
Post-Anesthesia Care Unit at Borgess Health Alliance
in Kalamazoo, MI. Baldwin, who has been a registered
nurse for 34 years, is also president of MNA’s
Southwestern Chapter (5), which covers the Michigan
counties of Allegan, Barry, Van Buren, Kalamazoo,
Calhoun, Berrien, Cass and St. Joseph.
