FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
REGISTERED NURSES CELEBRATE SUCCESS
Marquette General Health (MGH)
System reconsiders decision on substance abuse facilities
Marquette, MI – The registered nurses at
Marquette General Health System will celebrate the
saving of the MGH Substance Abuse Unit on Tuesday,
June 20, 2006, from 5 to 7:00 at the American Legion/Harlow
Park.
“We are thrilled that the MGH administration
rescinded their decision to eliminate their state-of-the-art
residential Substance Abuse Unit. This is a great
example of the community and the professionals who
care for the community coming together to ensure
that the right decisions are made,” says Lynda
Trickey, RN, from the Ortho-Neuro Unit at MGH.
“We look forward to working together with
MGH to ensure that all hospital units are appropriately
staffed and our community continues to receive the
services they need to recover,” says David
Perlove.
The community is invited to join the MGH registered
nurses for a barbeque celebration beginning at 5:00
p.m. on Tuesday, June 20. The American
Legion and the “40 and 8” Society will
be on hand to help celebrate and to promote their
commitment to nurse training.
