Michigan Nurses Association Publications Recognized

Okemos, MI – Michigan Nurses Association (MNA) received four awards for their publications as part of the 2006 Michigan Labor Press Publication Contest.

MNA received two First Place awards:

  • Best Website, which is www.minurses.org. The website was designed by Kate Peterson of Pleasantly Progressive Design (www.pleasantlyprogressivedesign.com) and is maintained by Lisa Gottlieb-Kinnaird, MNA Graphic Designer.

  • General Excellence for a Publication for MNA’s magazine, Michigan Nurse, which is edited by Ann Kettering Sincox, MNA Editor, and designed by Lisa Gottlieb-Kinnaird, MNA Graphic Designer.

“Laboring in the UP,” a feature story about union nurses in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan, received a Second Place for the Best Feature Story. The story was written by Ann Kettering Sincox, MNA Editor, and published in the October 2005 issue of the Michigan Nurse.

MNA also received an Honorable Mention for the Donald Delena Award for Photographic Collage Excellence for a photo story on the University of Michigan Professional Nurse Council’s 30 Year Anniversary Celebration. The article was written by Ann Kettering Sincox, MNA Editor; layout and design was by Lisa Gottlieb-Kinnaird, MNA Graphic Designer.
