Breslin appointed to Michigan Board of Nursing

Okemos, MI – Jeffrey Breslin, RN, a member of the Michigan Nurses Association (MNA), has been appointed by Governor Jennifer M. Granholm to the Michigan Board of Nursing. His term will be effective until June 30, 2011.

Breslin, a staff nurse at Sparrow Health Systems in Lansing, MI, holds an Associate degree in Nursing from Lansing Community College and is studying for his Bachelor of Science degree at Central Michigan University in Mt. Pleasant, MI. In addition, he serves as President of the Professional Employees Council of Sparrow Hospital (PECSH), which represents all professional health care workers for collective bargaining at Sparrow Health Systems, and also is a member of the MNA Board of Directors.

“Jeff has been an active spokesperson for nursing on the local, state and national levels,” stated John Karebian, MNA Executive Director of Labor and Government Relations. “His experience and professional nurse advocacy skills will be a great asset to the Board of Nursing.”
