MNA ENDORSES SCHAUER IN WASHINGTON RACE
Lansing, MI – The Michigan Nurses Association (MNA) has endorsed Michigan Senator Mark Schauer in his 7th Congressional District race against Congressman Tim Wahlberg. Senator Schauer currently represents Calhoun County and much of Jackson County.
A long time friend of nursing, Schauer was the recipient of the 2000 Friend of Nursing award for his work in providing access to health care in Battle Creek. “Mark has consistently shown and supported the need for health care for all Michigan citizens, especially children,” stated Renee Curtis, president of MNA-PAC. “He is an avid supporter of expanding the federal S-CHIP program and has been an outstanding advocate for nursing issues.”
Senator Schauer will address over four hundred nurses and nursing students on the Capitol steps on Wednesday, March 12, at 11:10 am (approximately) as part of Michigan Nurses MARCH!, MNA’s political action day.
