RNS TO ADDRESS ISSUES WITH ARMC BOARD OF DIRECTORS

Alpena, MI – A delegation comprised of members from the Alpena Professional Nurses Units I, II and Home Care Services, represented by the Michigan Nurses Association (MNA), along with representatives from the Thunder Bay Central Labor Council, and other community organizations will attend the Alpena Regional Medical Center Board of Directors meeting scheduled for Tuesday, March 25, 2008.

Where: Alpena Regional Medical Center
When: Tuesday, March 25, 2008, 5:30 pm

The delegation will share its support of the ARMC registered nurses in their efforts to obtain a fair contract from the Hospital. The nurses are being asked to take major concessions in vacation time, health care costs, and longevity. In addition, the nurses have asked for health and safety language in their contract, protection against workplace violence in line with federal OSHA standards, and a voice in staffing levels.

The nurses are currently working without a contract, which expired on February 23, 2008.
