SpeakersFred B. Kotler is a Labor Relations Representative for the Michigan Nurses Association, covering the Upper Peninsula and based at MNA’s U.P. office in Marquette. He has extensive experience as a trainer and educator in the areas of leadership and organizational development, presentation skills, strategic planning, and labor relations. Fred has worked as a community and union organizer, policy analyst, and local union staff representative. Before joining MNA’s staff, Fred was at the School of Industrial and Labor Relations, Cornell University (1994-2011) and served as Director, Cornell / New York AFL-CIO Union Leadership Institute. He was Director, Labor Education Program at Northern Michigan University (1986-94). He attended Harvard University, the University of California, Berkeley, and received his law degree (J.D.) from the School of Law, University of San Francisco. Fred was inducted into the Upper Peninsula Labor Hall of Fame in 2006. He resides in Marquette, MI. Debra Nault, MSN, RN, is a nurse with 35+ years of experience in clinical practice, academic teaching, and practice program development. She received her bachelors’ degree in nursing from Michigan State University and her masters in Parent/Child Nursing from the University of Michigan. She has practiced as an L&D staff nurse, manager, midwife and clinical nurse specialist in the Lansing area. She maintains her board certification in Midwifery and has presented at conferences on computer charting and technology in nursing practice and education. Currently she holds the position of Associate Executive Director of Nursing Practice at the Michigan Nurses Association and is part time clinical faculty for MSU. Contact Hours3.5 contact hours will be awarded to participants who attend the entire offering and complete the evaluation form. The Michigan Nurses Association is accredited as a provider of continuing nursing education by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation. This continuing nursing education activity is provided solely by the Michigan Nurses Association (MNA), and there is no commercial support or conflict of interest in this activity by the planners and developers of this CE module. There is no discussion of off-label usage of products or endorsement of products by MNA or the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC.) Registration
