Licensure in Michigan

The Michigan Nurses Association is the professional organization for RNs, not the licensing board. Licensure for RNs and LPNs and certification for Nurse Practitioners, Nurse Midwives and Nurse Anesthetists is done by the Michigan Board of Nursing. The Michigan Board of Nursing is housed within the Michigan Department of Community Health. Some of the information available through the Board of Nursing includes:

Renewing Your License

Starting in 2018 there is no longer be an option for hard copy/pen and paper completion of the survey; instead, there are two options for electronic completion of the survey as follows:

The link to the Michigan Nursing Licensure Survey is located at the end of the entire renewal process, on the bottom of the payment receipt page.  The red words RN Survey are the actual link.

We have also received word form LARA staff that a link to the licensure survey will be provided in the second and third email licensure renewal reminders being sent to nurses. Nurses have the option of using either the link provided in the electronic reminder notice or the link at the end of the electronic licensure renewal payment receipt page to complete the Nursing Licensure Survey.
