Advocacy Academy Opening Workshop
February 22, 2025 @ 12:00 am
The MNA Advocacy Academy is a 6-month professional development program that gives nurses and healthcare professionals the tools to be effective legislative advocates. Most of the work is done virtually and on your own time. No experience is necessary, and this program is open to any MNA member who wants to build their knowledge and skills!
The program begins on Saturday, February 22nd, 2025 with a morning in-person workshop at a location in Lansing yet to be determined.
The program will consist primarily of online workshops, on-your-own activities, and most importantly attending the MNA Capitol Action Day in Lansing on Thursday, May 15th.
Advocacy Academy graduates will receive a certificate of achievement, along with a framed copy of the Great Seal of the State of Michigan. Participants may be eligible for continuing education credit. Michigan Nurses Association (MNA) is accredited as a provider of nursing continuing professional development by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation.
Advocacy Academy is for MNA members only at no cost. RNs not represented by MNA can join as Associate members for $75. The deadline to register for Advocacy Academy is Friday, February 7th.
