The Nurse Practice Coordinator plans and implements a nursing practice program which mentors nurses to be strong leaders and advocates for their patients while promoting the practice and education standards of the nursing profession. The Nurse Practice Coordinator will plan, organize, coordinate and present at a grassroots and leadership level, training and education programs on nursing practice, patient and social advocacy issues. Nursing practice supports and coordinates practice and education activities with all other MNA programs and ensures that MNA meets the ANCC requirements to be a provider of nursing continuing education including appropriate record keeping.
Qualifications: MSN, or BSN with a master’s degree; current Michigan RN license. 3-5 years of nursing practice/education experience. A thorough knowledge of fundamental nursing practice/policy and adult education/learning methods. Knowledge of health care facility regulations and current threats to nursing scope of practice and patient advocacy is required. Proven leadership skills, the ability to meet deadlines, strong organizational and interpersonal skills are required. Must have strong written and oral communication skills.
